Light the Way: The Campaign for Berkeley

From Ethiopia to Berkeley and back again

Ph.D. candidate Tsegereda Esatu on her journey from the prescriptive education system of Addis Ababa to the U.S. and ultimately, thanks in part to the UC-HBCU initiative fellowship, to UC Berkeley. She hopes to bring her work in electrical engineering and computer science — specifically on small, energy-efficient semiconductors — back home to Ethiopian students.
